In practice, not all cleaners harmonize with the plastics used for helmets and visors. We have found this over and over again in a number of test series: an overly aggressive chemical cocktail, which then leads to the famous stress cracks. Even the mundane and popular little household remedies from the kitchen (“do you want a lot, do the washing up …”) show this problem if they are not rinsed off thoroughly. It is better to use cleaning agents specially designed for the helmet and visor.

Cleaner with a pleasant smelling fragrance

We use the tried and tested S100 visor and helmet cleaner, which is now offered in combination with a special microfiber cloth (“the cloth”), in use during many everyday tours as well as on racetrack training. The pleasant smelling cleaner is sprayed on, depending on the degree of soiling, street dirt and small insects can be removed after about a minute by wiping with the microfiber cloth provided without applying too much pressure.

The dirt residues stick to the cloth and do not leave any traces of smear on the cleaned surface. For larger, already dried-on insect corpses, rub a little harder. Removing tire marks from the helmet requires repeated use and a lot of friction pressure – but then the stain is also removed without scratching. The cleaner can also be used on headlights, windows and mirrors, but we do not recommend it for the Pinlock on the inside of the visor.

Conclusion

The visor and helmet cleaner from S100 was completely convincing in the first practical test. We especially liked the material compatibility, the cleaning result and, last but not least, the pleasant smell. Clear buy recommendation!
