Triumph is launching a new Street Triple RS for the 2020 model year. The triplet of the 2020 Streety increases even more in the middle, and the electronics have also been improved.

In the middle speed range, the driver should now be able to call up nine percent more torque, at the top the three-cylinder increases by two to 79 Nm at 9,350 turns. A new exhaust interference pipe smooths the torque curve for a wide, usable torque "from below" and over the entire speed range. Similarly, the power at medium engine speeds increases by nine percent, with a peak of 123 hp at 11,750 rpm. The engine updates also include a new exhaust camshaft, a revised crankshaft drive and new throttle valves. The new rear silencer contains two catalytic converters and shines with a carbon end cap. In the transmission, the masses are said to have been reduced and shiftability improved.

The 2020 vintage also sets itself apart visually from its predecessor. The LED double headlights have a sharper shape and are much brighter. The daytime running lights have also been given a completely new design. The flyscreen – now with an integrated intake duct – as well as the side and rear covers, the seat cover and the front spoiler have also been modified. The three-cylinder is also said to have increased its finish.

Refreshed electronics

The electronics range has been updated. The TFT display has been brought up to date in terms of connectivity. The quickshifter for clutchless upshifting and downshifting is now part of the standard equipment. The five available driving modes (road, rain, sport, track and individually configurable by the driver) have been re-tuned, with the rain mode limiting the power to 100 hp. What else does the RS offer? The ABS can still be set, the traction control can be set and switched off.

A modified swing arm pivot point should further improve the responsiveness of the Ohlins shock absorber, a higher pillion seat its seating position. And if you want, you can customize your Street Triple RS even further with over 60 available accessory options.
