WSBK - Honda Ten Kate train at home - Used HONDA

It was at home, in Assen, that Ronald Ten Kate’s team trained over the last two days for the resumption of hostilities at the World Superbike on June 27 in Misano: after a delicate American event, the Honda riders claim be ready !

Since the last event at Miller Motorsport Park (read), the members of the Honda Ten Kate team – like all their little comrades at the World Superbike – had not put their wheels down on a track.

However, unlike the Ducati riders (read), but also those of the official Yamaha, Suzuki, BMW and Aprilia teams, the Honda riders preferred "their" Assen track rather than Misano, which will host the next event on June 27 ( read).

It should be remembered that at the start of the season, the teams entered in Superbike and Supersport designate one circuit – and only one – where they will be able to perform private tests before the event on this circuit has taken place. Having chosen Assen, the Ten Kate therefore enjoyed a definite advantage when they arrived in the Netherlands on April 25 (read).

An asset from which Jonathan Rea was able to take full advantage: the Irishman signed his very first Superpole in the Netherlands and pocketed his first double in WSBK! Its competitors, on the other hand, will have a harder time standing out from the crowd at Misano…

During the next event in Italy, Johnny will start with a slight handicap but it is hard to see the Fireblade n ° 65 being dropped too easily on race day. !

"My neck looks brand new since I jumped into a hyperbaric chamber at home", reassures Rea, who was very wrinkled during the tests of the American round …"The shoulder takes a little longer to recover, but I’m sure it will be ready for next week in Italy"She wouldn’t have bothered him these last two days at Assen..

On the motorcycle side, Jonathan wants to be just as satisfied: suffering – in addition to his injuries! – unexpected twitching ("chattering") to Miller, the pilot and his mechanics worked to make them disappear by probably returning to the settings of last April.

"At least we know what’s not working", relativizes the sympathetic pilot who seems he instantly regained his racing rhythm of two months ago. Confident, Rea intends to arrive at Misano"with some of the issues from last year already resolved".

Concerns that did not prevent the 2008 Supersport vice world champion – yes, anyway! – to finish 7th in the first round … and to win the second !

On the other side of the box, Max Neukirchner chained the rounds (91 Monday and 90 Tuesday) to try to do – finally! – to his new mount. The ex-hope of the Suzuki Alstare team has not yet found his marks on the CBR1000RR and continues to grope…

"We definitely found a way to make the suspensions work a little differently and I tried the swingarm Jonathan uses. Nevertheless, I went back to my usual arm and found a better way to use it", specifies the German pilot.

The n ° 76 driver of the Ten Kate team would therefore have managed to improve his lap times compared to last April. Max would also have liked the transfer of the center of gravity to the rear of the machine: let’s hope for him that these new adjustments – and new ones, planned for the fork – will allow him to return to the front lines! Answer on June 27 on the Italian track of Misano: stay tuned !
