WSBK - Leon Camier absent at Imola ... but present in 2011! - Second hand APRILIA

This weekend in Imola, Max Biaggi can win the Superbike world champion title with Aprilia. His teammate Leon Camier will unfortunately not be on the track, but he has already signed for a second year on the RSV4.

Injured in his right hand during a fall three weeks ago at the Nurburgring (read), Leon Camier will unfortunately not participate in the next World Superbike event at Imola this weekend…

"Doctors said if I came back too early the bone could crumble and could be a problem. The scaphoid is not a bone like any other, the situation is delicate", regrets the young Englishman.

"The operation went well, it was performed under x-rays so I don’t really have a scar. Now I train in a hyperbaric chamber to come back as soon as possible".

Thus, Aprilia’s n ° 2 hopes to get back on his RSV4 Factory for the grand final of the world championship which will take place in a week at Magny-Cours. By then, his teammate Max Biaggi may have swapped his No. 3 for a No. 1? This weekend, it is indeed very likely that Max Biaggi will capture his fifth world crown…

The Roman Emperor will therefore in all likelihood be the new No. 1 in the discipline next year – unless he still wears his No. 3, which has become a favorite, on his motorcycle – but it is now official: he will again be seconded by Leon Camier !

"We are very happy to be able to count on Leon again next season", says Gigi Dall’Igna, technical and sporting director of Aprilia Racing, because"he is a young driver but he has excellent potential and I think he has shown it".

Indeed, this year Leon discovered at the same time his bike, the tires, the circuits and the whole of the World Superbike. And the one nicknamed "Shafter" did not disappoint: regularly in the Top 6, he has already climbed twice on the podium and is in 9th place in the championship with 164 points..

Applied and serious, Camier intends to make good progress next year: "i have lots of ideas for this winter and i will do my best to make them work for next season", warns the reigning English Superbike champion.

Applied and serious … but not only, as evidenced by its official channel on YouTube, which smacks of shit between friends, a sense of self-deprecation and the joy of living! High-level competition can therefore rhyme with relaxation but Leon Camier must be watched closely, on and off the track. !
