At Ducati, the noises of the hallway mention Bayliss and Biaggi as possible "luxury" testers, or even outright as replacements for Melandri during the season…

For Bayliss, this scenario is excluded: "I have the Superbike championship to win and there is no way I will do any testing which could prove risky for my season on the GP8 ! "

Behind the scenes, Troy admits to having drawn a final line on MotoGP after his Valencia victory in 2006: "I think Stoner is currently the fastest rider on the grid on the Ducati handlebars and I’m not sure how I could come and help the GP team", he confides:"even if I drove a second faster than Melandri in practice, I would not agree to compete in a GP race in her place".

Biaggi, on the other hand, would be much more enthusiastic about getting back on the handlebars of a Grand Prix motorcycle … Unless all this commotion is mostly the figment of the imagination of Italian journalists in need of thrills. ?
