It was in his final loop that Checa signed his fourth pole this season. He posts his Ducati in front of Smrz’s, and in front of the two official Yamaha of Melandri and Laverty. Guintoli is just behind in 5th position !

Soaked throughout this second day of testing, Miller’s track required a good dose of "self-control" from the WSBK pilots: several of them ended up in the mud! Max Biaggi in particular, was cut off in his last lap by tracing straight ahead, laying – and messing up – his beautiful Aprilia n ° 1 on the ground…

Carlos Checa made no mistake, stealing pole position from Jakub Smrz after the checkered flag had just been released! The Ducati Effenbert Liberty team was already preparing to slash the champagne, but it was their comrades from Team Althea who finally took charge, for the fourth time this season. !

Behind these two 1098Rs are the two R1s of Marco Melandri and Eugene Laverty. The Yamaha riders, respectively 2nd and 5th in the provisional classification, once again animated the qualifying sessions and should do the same during the two rounds of tomorrow….

At the head of the second row, Sylvain Guintoli confirms both the good behavior of the Ducati on the American track, but also and above all the improvement of its physical form. The rain would remain on the program for the races that our national n ° 50 would not complain about, on the contrary.

Less than a second from Checa’s time, Troy Corser set the 6th fastest time in Superpole 3 and thus places his S1000RR on 6th place on the grid, ahead of the world champion’s RSV4 and the BMW n ° 86 d ‘Ayrton Badovini, the Superstock 1000 champion who strikes a big blow again.

After Superpole 2, Noriyuki Haga leads the third row on the handlebars of his private Aprilia. Tom Sykes, at the forefront during the free and qualifying sessions this Sunday underwater, takes 10th place at the helm of his official Kawasaki.

Victim in Superpole 1 of a highside without gravity for him – a little more for his RSV4 Factory! -, Leon Camier managed to regain the pits in time to ride his mule and join Superpole 2 … but not 3! The Englishman will start from 11th place, just ahead of his compatriot Leon Haslam, also at fault.

Despite their private testing on the American track seven days ago, Jonathan Rea and Ruben Xaus have not passed the Superpole 1 milestone and will have to be content with 13th and 14th places on the grid. Behind them are two Suzuki: Alstare n ° 84 by Michel Fabrizio and guest Yoshimura n ° 12 by Joshua Waters.

Joan Lascorz, James Toseland, Mark Aitchison, Maxime Berger and Roberto Rolfo were excluded from the Superpole sessions and will start beyond sixteenth place. See you tomorrow evening to follow, slightly delayed, the two WSBK races !
