Recently, Sylvain had even "attended a working meeting with Crescent engineers about the machine settings and specific tests to be carried out during the Aragon tests which start today (Monday, October 15, 2012)", details his former team (in British Superbike).
But in the meantime, Sylvain would have received an offer from another manufacturer: "he warned Crescent that he wished to consider this offer in detail and that it was impossible for him to commit to the Aragon tests or to the ‘deal with Crescent ", reports the British team.
Disoriented, distraught and upset, Paul Denning therefore made the decision to "release Guintoli from all his obligations for next season", and to roll Josh Waters during the three days of Spanish tests..
"I am extremely disappointed and surprised by Sylvain’s lack of integrity and his total lack of respect for the commitments made previously. He is the last driver that I would have thought capable of behaving like this, especially given that we had a close professional and personal relationship before ", regrets the big boss of the Suzuki team.
“Our team has always tried to stick to the fundamental principle of sticking to what was agreed upon, and that has always proven to be the best policy in the long run. Sylvain clearly doesn’t think that way and he’s willing to ignore a handshake, a "gentleman’s agreement" and a written contract. It’s a shame really! "
“Our energy is now focused on finding other opportunities for the team in 2013,” continued Mister Denning: “We are delighted that Josh was able to join us in such a short time to help us build next season. had a very solid season with Suzuki in Australian Superbike and had a brilliant performance for our partner Yoshimura at the Suzuka 8 Hours. I’m sure he will adapt to the team quickly and we all can’t wait to see how he gets by !"
