Yamaha YZ 250 F 2021

Menus

For 2021, Yamaha aims even more
high with the launch of a new YZ 250 F, equipped with an optimized engine,
a redesigned frame, new suspension settings, new brakes and
of digital technologies that set it apart in this category
ultra-competitive.

A motor
completely redesigned

Every major component has been
reconsidered and improved to give pilots a real advantage over
track. Thanks to an inverted cylinder head design which provides better
intake efficiency and better mass centralization, the engine
250 cm3 4 valves stands out as one of the most efficient in the category.

To develop the 2021 model, the
Yamaha engineers have analyzed each key element and have brought a large number
significant changes to optimize performance, as well as a
improved transmission for smoother shifting.

Yamaha YZ 250 F 2021 New profile
exhaust camshaft

The feeling of power
2021 engine, from medium revs to overspeeds, has been improved thanks to
the use of a new exhaust camshaft with a redesigned profile
which reduces valve crossover. Associated with injection parameters of
optimized fuel, this new camshaft improves the engine character of the
machine, from use at medium speed, thus offering a higher level
performance and greater control.

All new high efficiency intake system

The front-facing admission of
the YZ 250 F is a key element that gives this engine an advantage
significant. In addition to ensuring the distribution of air directly into the engine
to increase combustion efficiency and acceleration response,
this rear-tilted single-cylinder design provides excellent
centralization of masses, thus contributing to the agility and maneuverability of
the motorbike.

The intake system of the 2021 model
is completely new. Redesigned airbox moves away from intake horn
and has been shortened by 20mm to allow the incoming air to circulate more
fluid and more direct. Another key change is the use of a new
air filter housing cover mounted on the front of the saddle. Taking advantage of
new ducts, this cover increases the intake air volume to provide
even higher performance at high revs.

New silencer
high performance

To support the increase in
2021 engine performance, a new silencer, with increased capacity, has
been installed. Only 70 mm longer than the previous model, it
allows smoother acceleration, especially at high revs, and offers
deep sound that underlines the character of this engine.

Reinforced clutch housing
and flexible transmission

Optimizing the performance of the
new engine, the clutch housing has been redesigned. It has walls
thicker, significantly stronger, offering increased durability and
more assertive performance throughout the race.

The 3rd, 4th and 5th reports on
input and output shafts have been redesigned to deliver performance of
improved drivetrain, while the gears are shot-blasted to provide
greater robustness and adapt to increased engine performance.

Frame redesigned to
bilateral beam optimizing maneuverability

This motocross was already recognized
for its maneuverability and lightness, but the tests carried out by the designers
Yamaha made it possible to refine the structure of the frame and to pass the
chassis performance to a higher level.

The YZ 250 F 2021 gets a new
aluminum frame with bilateral beam which, while being similar to that of the
previous design, presents a number of significant changes that
match the increased performance of the new engine and improve
concretely the feeling of maneuverability. By improving the rigidity of the frame
in key locations, Yamaha designers were able to create a chassis
which offers maneuverability and lightness, as well as a feeling of confidence and
unprecedented precision. Other chassis components, such as the triple tree,
the handlebar mounts and the front wheel axle have also been redesigned to
meet the requirements of the new framework, contributing to performance
optimized from the 2021 model.

Yamaha YZ 250 F 2021 The settings of
front and rear suspensions provide better control.

Yamaha crosses are recognized
to be equipped with suspensions in the top of their category. At the front, the
KYB fully adjustable coil spring fork provides damping
tuned to speed to provide handling performance
exceptional, while at the rear, the Monocross shock absorber system
KYB linkage provides optimal control and traction.

Truly “factory optimized”, the
2021 suspension package becomes even more efficient. The settings of the
KYB fork have been improved to provide more progressive damping on
the entire race, which allows the pilot to feel the contact more finely
with the track surface while providing better bump absorption
to save the pilot’s energy. At the rear, the KYB shock absorber benefits
also new settings that offer more stability and limit the
motorcycle rearing up.

These significant improvements in
suspensions, associated with the rigidity of the new bilateral beam frame,
offer exceptional handling to the YZ 250 F 2021. Even lighter,
the new model offers a new feeling of precision which allows the pilot
to maintain the chosen trajectory in the fastest turns. The
traction is also improved by these modifications to the chassis, which
gives better control of the machine and offers a real advantage over its
competitors.

Braking system
lighter and more powerful

Braking performance is
improvements and the weight of the braking system is reduced for 2021.

The new front caliper is 30
% more rigid than that of the previous model. It incorporates more pistons
large diameter and new brake pads, while
that a new 270 mm front disc allows a 16% increase in
platelet contact surface, without weight increase. Design
of the rear brake calipers is also unheard of and, associated with a new
240mm rear disc, this system delivers the same stopping power while
weighing 120 g less. The new braking system contributes significantly
significant to the competitiveness and dynamic behavior of the motorcycle.

New position of
handlebar

In order to improve the position
steering and offer better handling, the handlebars of the YZ 250 F 2021
is mounted further forward, allowing the pilot to move and load
forward when necessary.

New handlebar mounts
find their place on a new lighter triple tree, the two elements
taking advantage of an unprecedented balance of rigidity which reduces the stress on the
pilot’s arm. The new chromoly steel footrests as well as the new
front wheel axle are lighter, which allows the motorcycle to weigh only
106 kg, with a 6.2 liter fuel tank and 0.95 liter of oil
motor. It is only 3 kg more than the YZ 250 2 stroke.

New skin
Blue Icon with Coordinate Number Plates

Yamaha Racing has made blue its
favorite color and to further assert that look, the YZ 250 F 2021 uses a
new Blue Icon trim with number plates, front and side,
of a coordinated color. Sporting blue rims, cylinder head and
Highlighted engine details, the 2021 model asserts more powerful styling and
more streamlined which is undoubtedly in the DNA of Yamaha.

Yamaha Power Tuner

The Power Tuner is an innovation
easy-to-use digital device that allows YZ 250 F or YZ 450 F pilots to
fine-tune the engine power using their smartphone. He
Pilots and mechanics just need to download the free app
Power Tuner on their iOS or Android devices, and then connect so
instantaneous to the YZ 250 F to adjust the fuel injection and the
ignition via the motorcycle’s communications control unit (CCU). Thanks to
the Power Tuner application, the pilot can define his own settings and, in
using the button mounted on the handlebar, choose between two maps
motor.

Yamaha YZ 250 F 2021 In addition to making changes
to engine performance, the Power Tuner can also be used to
record driving data and monitor a series of data,
including system diagnostics, uptime and
maintenance. Comparison and sharing of race reports and settings
with other drivers are also possible.
