This is the name of this decoration that the new R1 sports to celebrate Yamaha’s fiftieth anniversary. It’s yellow, it flashes, and it was the colors of Yam competition machines in the 1970s-1980s. Remember the 2-stroke that meowed and brought the titles of the world championships on the road in 78, 79 and 80. A certain Kenny Roberts proudly defended the colors we see above.

Apart from the 50th anniversary Yamaha logo and this special colourway, this edition of the R1 remains technically identical to the new version of 2006. If you are looking for something more full-bodied, a limited series SP will be available for only 500 units..
