MotoGP Italian Grand Prix – Zarco: It was a great race !
Johann Zarco finished seventh in the MotoGP Italian Grand Prix on his Tech3 team Yamaha. In the championship, the resounding victory of Dovizioso lost a place to the French debutant, who nevertheless remained sixth, 41 points behind Viñales… Statements and Analysis.
Johann Zarco, Yamaha Tech3 (11th in qualifying and 7th in race) : "It was a great race for me and I’m happy with the final result. I started 11th on the grid, which complicates things because I didn’t have the advantage I had at Le Mans (, Editor’s note). J I was still able to keep the pace, but it was difficult to pass Iannone because his acceleration was slightly better and his braking was also very strong. It took a long time to overtake him and suddenly I lost contact with Marquez and Bautista, who were fighting for 5th place. When I passed Iannone I hoped to catch up with the two riders in front of me quite quickly, but I was exhausted because I had to force a lot on the bike and I felt that my tires had deteriorated a bit ".
"In the last five laps the group behind me caught up to me but I had a great feeling on the bike and the rear tire was working great again, as was the front tire so I was able to attack to keep this 7th place ", rejoices Johann. "It’s a good result because it was a risky weekend. We tried to find a solution to the sliding problems but it was not easy. But once again, I learned a lot and I have gave everything I had, so we can leave Mugello satisfied ".

Another satisfying race for the, which we find it hard to realize is only discovering the premier class this year! The French debutant has something to put a smile on his face to his fans and his team – with whom he comes from for 2018 – even if his choice of (as in) was perhaps not the most judicious this weekend: Rossi and Viñales had opted for the hard, knowing that the constraints and temperatures at Mugello are much higher than at Le Mans.
Johann fears no one !
"I am very proud of Johann and race after race he is in the leading peloton and he fears no one", rejoices Herve Poncharal: "it is a good day for Johann and maybe some think that this result is disappointing after his podium at Le Mans, but we all know that the French GP was very special ".
"It was a complicated weekend here, but he was still – by far – the best rookie, finishing ahead of several official riders, including Iannone and Lorenzo," continued the Tech3 team manager. "The guys in front were faster and we could all see how strong the Ducati was on this circuit, but maybe the competition will be more even on other circuits".
Check it out this weekend at the Catalan GP on the Barcelona circuit, where Johann has won twice in a row in Moto2 in and !
