AMB 001 runs with Turbo-V2
EICMA 2019
The British motorcycle manufacturer Brough Superior and the luxury car manufacturer Aston Martin have put together a limited edition on wheels. The special model AMB 001 could be seen at EICMA 2019. The first test images are now available.
B.Both brands look back on common British origins and a long tradition. There is also a great deal of agreement when it comes to values. So it made sense to get creative together.
As the first child of the collaboration, in which Brough Superior donated the technology and Aston Martin donated the design, the limited edition AMB 001 made its debut at EICMA 2019 in Milan. Other special models could follow.
Turbo-V2 with 180 PS
The AMB 001 is designed as a light, powerful sports bike, is not approved for road use and is limited to 100 copies. The heart of the AMB 001 is a 997 cm³ 88-degree V2 with liquid cooling. It is pressurized by a turbocharger with variable turbine blade geometry and charge air cooling. A six-speed gearbox transfers the drive torque to the rear wheel via a toothed belt. The manufacturers promise 180 HP peak power and a fat torque without giving precise details. The exhaust manifold is made of the Formula 1 high-tech material Inconel and ends in a silencer located under the engine.
The V2 hangs in an aluminum bridge frame milled from solid. The rear section made of carbon is fixed to the main frame with titanium screws. All other cladding parts such as the tank cover, front spoiler, front and rear fenders and front mask are made from carbon fiber laminate. At the rear, a two-arm swing arm with a central spring strut and deflection guides the forged wheel. The front counterpart is in a milled aluminum Fior fork with a central spring strut. At the front, Bremspower delivers a double disc system with radially screwed four-piston calipers.

The seat is lined with leather, and the handles are made of leather. The AMB 001 will be built at Brough Superior in Toulouse, France. The basic price is given as 108,000 euros (including tax). The first vehicles are to be delivered at the end of 2020.
Now the Superbike is riding for the first time. Chassis tests are currently taking place on the race track in Pau-Arnos.
