Benelli 752 S at EICMA

Return to the middle class

Since the takeover by the Chinese QJ Group at the end of 2005, the traditional Italian manufacturer has only built motorcycles with a maximum of 600 cc. Now he is returning to the upper middle class with the 752 S.. It will celebrate its premiere at EICMA.

The 752 S could already be seen; it was already a prototype at the trade fair in Milan in 2017. Now it is venturing onto the market in summer 2019. The key data of the naked bike: in-line twin-cylinder, 754 ccm, 76.8 hp at 8,500 rpm, 67 Nm at 6,500 rpm, tubular space frame, 17 inch wheels, clear lines , restrained look. A rather tame variant on the subject of naked bikes, but the almost 80 PS could cheer up the 750 – weight fully fueled: 228 kg – quite happily. The in-line two-cylinder with the six-speed gearbox is brand new and more models from B.drive enelli. Apart from injection and ABS, the 752 S has no electronic helpers on board.

Another big Benelli

Benelli

The Benelli 752 S is optically based on the Ducati monster models.

The 752 S, which looks like a Ducati Monster, relies on a 50 mm upside-down fork with 117 mm of travel. At the rear, in the tubular steel frame, sits a central spring strut with 45 mm travel. Stop-Power is supplied by a 320 double-disk system with four-piston calipers at the front. At the rear, single-piston pliers bite into a 260 disc. The Benelli uses 17-inch cast aluminum rims for the gear train. A 120/70 tire is installed in the front, a 180/55 tire rotates at the rear.

The motorcycle is extremely important for the manufacturer, as it marks the return to the field of large motorcycles. Benelli has left it since production of the 900 and 1,100 three-cylinder models was discontinued due to a lack of ABS and Euro 4 homologation for Europe. After that, the brand sank into a deep slumber, from which it has gradually been emerging again for two years and attracting attention with well-made small models such as the TRK 502 or the Leoncino 500. They not only convince with their original design, but also with their proper workmanship – production in China now largely works according to European standards. That is why you shouldn’t expect any miracles from the new 752 S either, but you can expect a decent performance.

The price has not yet been determined, but should be on the rather cheap line that Benelli has taken so far – and not more than 7,000 euros.
