New information about the second Kawasaki model

At EICMA 2019, Bimota and its new partner Kawasaki presented the Tesi H2. A second model has already been announced with the KB4. Now there is new detailed information.

Kawasaki and B.imota have officially been a team since EICMA 2019 and with the support of the Kawasaki Europe department, Bimota wants to regain its old glory with new models.

As a debut, the Tesi H2 was combined with the supercharged engine from Kawasaki and the well-known Ackermann steering chassis from Bimota. But it should not stop with a new model. In a teaser video that was published at the end of 2019, Bimota announced KB4. And that should "come soon", so the video continues.

Four-cylinder from the Z1000

There is only one design sketch that shows a sports motorcycle with full fairing, one-man hump, banana swing arm and tubular space frame.

The panels appear to be molded from carbon fiber laminate. The recognizable engine housing cover suggests the 1,000 series four-cylinder from Kawasaki, as it is installed in the Ninja 1000 SX and the Z 1000. This would mean at least 142 hp and 111 Nm of torque. For use with Bimota, with a little fine tuning, 150 PS should be feasible.

In May 2020, the Italians will post more teaser images of the new KB4 on their Facebook channel. Ok, the two absolutely blurred images of a prototype do not reveal any new details, but clearly show that the new model is coming. November 2020 brings more information about the upcoming Bimota KB4. Their production will start in March 2021 – albeit strictly limited. The equipment includes an extensive electronics package from cornering ABS to quickshifter and various driving modes. The brakes come from Brembo, the forged rims from OZ and the spring elements from Ohlins. The TFT display in the cockpit offers connectivity options, the aluminum swing arm can be adjusted via an eccentric bearing at the pivot point.
