At BMW, as with all other manufacturers, model year 2022 is just around the corner. The Bavarians use the program change for various model maintenance measures. The 2022 versions can be ordered from August 2021. But let’s get to the changes in detail.

40 years GS edition is completely eliminated

The edition does not apply to the BMW G 310 GS “40 years of GS”, the new style triple black in cosmic black uni is moving into the range. New to the sister model, the BMW G 310 R, is the Passion style in kyanite blue metallic with red rims in red. The polar white paint finish is no longer available. The color variant Cosmicblack uni 2 now comes with a badge holder and lamp mask in black.

The boxers are also modified. For the BMW R nineT Scrambler, the optional off-road tires are now available in the price list for an extra charge of 50 euros. The R nineT as Urban GS has to go to the “40 years of GS”-Forego the edition, but instead gets the new color variant Imperial Blue metallic and the optional off-road tires.

The R 18 / Classic, which was only introduced last year, is also being refreshed. A modified lower case holder now allows the R 18 Classic to be driven without a case without removing the holder. With the start of the second model year, the First Edition will of course be discontinued. The R 18 can now be ordered in the color variants Mars red metallic, Manhattan metallic matt and option 719 Galaxy Dust metallic / Titanium silver 2 metallic. The latter is coupled to a black drive train with a reversing aid. The chrome design option, on the other hand, is freely selectable for all color variants. For Blackstorm metallic and Mars red metallic, the lines can be freely selected. Option 719 Aero design package is a new addition to the range.

BMW is upgrading the bestseller R 1250 GS for model year 2022 with a case holder for aluminum cases with a luggage rack made of stainless steel as part of the touring package.

The R 1250 RT comes with the new Triple Black style in Black storm metallic 2, but has to forego the Elegance style in Manhattan metallic. A software update brings new functions to the tourer. The favorite button can now be freely assigned and the ease of use and display of the instrument cluster has been further improved (use from October 1, 2021).

For the R 1250 RS, BMW is introducing the new Style Sport in light white with a red frame. The Austin Yellow metallic variant, however, is omitted.

The facelift on the BMW S 1000 RR is extensive. The Style Passion in mineral gray metallic is new. The M chassis kit with swing arm pivot and rear lift is now standard on board the athlete. The dynamic package is expanded to include Pro riding modes, DDC, cruise control and heated grips. The sports package has been canceled, M carbon wheels and M forged wheels can now also be ordered as individual special equipment in any other color, the race package includes the M endurance chain and the sports silencer or, alternatively, the M titanium exhaust system. The milled parts package has been expanded and the M package has been reorganized. In addition, all packages can now be combined with one another without exclusions.

News also for the BMW S 1000 XR. It comes in the new triple black style in black storm metallic 2 and the new colors Racing red 2 and light white uni / M Motorsport. Ice gray uni, Racing red uni / white aluminum matt and light white uni / Racing blue metallic / Racing red uni (Style Sport) are omitted. The M package can only be ordered in conjunction with the color combination Light White / M Motorsport. If you want the milled parts package, you have to do without the motor protector on the left.

For the F 750 GS and F 850 ​​GS models, BMW is bringing the new style Triple Black in Black storm metallic 2 including hand protection. The edition was canceled for both of them “40 years of GS” in black storm metallic.

The BMW F 850 ​​GS Adventure also gets the new style Triple Black in Black storm metallic 2, but including a double seat bench. The color light white is also new. The edition “40 years of GS” in black storm metallic and the color ice gray uni will be discontinued for model year 2022.

There are also fresh colors for the F 900 R. New are the Exclusive style in Bluestone metallic and the Sport style in Light White / Racing Blue metallic / Racing Red including an engine spoiler. The pillion seat cover is no longer available, as is the colors San Marino blue metallic and Style Sport in Hockenheim silver metallic / Racing red.

The sister model F 900 XR will compete in 2022 in the new Triple Black style in Black storm metallic including hand protection, but will have to do without the Exclusive style in Galvanic Gold metallic.

Conclusion

BMW is sending almost its entire range of models with new colors and styles into the 2022 model year. They can be ordered from August.
