Since 2004, Zongshen has been producing some Aprilia and Piaggio models on behalf of the company and is responsible for sales of all Piaggio brands in China, as well as Harley-Davidson. Zongshen builds all of Malaguti’s bikes and the engines for Fantic, and the group operates a motorcycle factory in the up-and-coming motorcycle country of Vietnam.

The Zongshen Empire’s brand names are registered in more than 160 countries. These include Lexmoto (Great Britain), Motorhispania (Spain), Minsk (Russia and Belarus), Zanella (Argentina), AKT (Colombia), Ryuka (Thailand) as well as Kasinski (Brazil) and also Zundapp. The Zongsheng factory team was the first Chinese team to take part in the motorcycle world championship in 2002.

Shineray was only founded in 1997 and quickly rose to become a major corporation. As recently as 2007, the quality of a 125 cc, which was only available online in Germany at the time, was very poor in MOTORRAD tests. But that was a long time ago by Chinese standards. In addition to cars and machines, Shineray mainly builds two-wheelers: commuter vehicles in the style of the Honda Super Cub, but also scooters, small enduros and athletes, mostly up to 250 cc for local markets. Shineray also manufactures in the booming country of Vietnam – and in Italy: in 2014 it was only a financial injection from Shineray that enabled the revival of the SWM brand. With its production in the EU, SWM is a springboard for Shineray into Europe, while the Chinese parent company supplies motors. As a production partner, Shineray also manufactures all mash models with 400 and 650 cm³. The top model is the new one Mash X-Ride 650 Classic. Mash develops and designs in Beaune / France, sells the machines in 26 countries. Jinan Qingqi (4,300 employees) builds smaller machines (50, 125 and 250) for Mash.

The Qianjiang Group Co. Ltd. (QJ) was founded 50 years ago, in 1971. The group currently produces around 1.2 million motorized two-wheelers and quads a year with around 13,500 employees. In 2005, QJ Benelli took over, leaving development in Pesaro / Italy. All Benellis are built entirely in China as a technology transfer. In Germany, 93 Benelli dealers take care of sales and service. Just a few months after it was founded, other street motorcycles and dirt bikes followed. Thanks to rapid success, Lifan rose to become one of the largest Chinese motorcycle manufacturers, today employs around 15,000 people and builds several million bikes a year.

Lifan also established its own production facilities in Thailand and Vietnam, among others. Lifan has been producing cars since 2002 and trucks since 2003. The brand’s trucks are sold in many countries in Southeast Asia and Latin America, Africa and the Middle East. So far Lifan has not yet exported to the European Union. A few dealers within the EU offer the Lifan LF 125 and Lifan LF 150 models from Bulgarian production.

In 1989 the Lai Zhejiang brothers founded CFMoto Power Co. Ltd. as a parts supplier. The company started manufacturing its own engines in 1996, its first motorcycle rolled off the production line in 2000 and the first ATV in 2004. In the state-of-the-art factory on an area of ​​200,000 m2, well over 100 different models with dozens of self-designed engines have already been created. CFMoto holds more than 100 patents and exports to over 70 countries.
