Ferrari patented motorcycle engine
Under the roof of Audi, sports car specialist Lamborghini and motorcycle manufacturers Ducati are closely together. This obviously wakes desires in competition.
The sports car manufacturer Ferrari may be planning the entry into the motorcycle business. According to information from the British magazine "Autocar", the Italians have patented a two-cylinder V-engine. The engine should do without compensation shafts for vibration attenuation, which makes it particularly easy and compact. In the patent documents the engine is mounted in a cruiser. However, it is unclear whether it is a concrete model or any demonstration vehicle. At the same time, the brand has proven to be the name "Cavallino" ("Horse") as a name for a motor vehicle.
More sales potential
With its own motorcycle Ferrari would increase its sales potential without the automobiles of the brand rendering to exclusivity. This would also fit the announcements of Fiat Chrysler and Ferrari Chef Sergio Marchionne to better use the strength of the brand with the jumping horse in the future. In addition, one could oppose the competitor Lamborghini something that works closely with the Group’s Nurser Ducati since it was taken over by the VW subsidiary Audi.
