CSC City Slicker
Pocket bike with electric drive
The Californian motorcycle manufacturer CSC has launched a new pocket bike. The City Slicker should be ideal for city traffic and is purely electric.
E.-Bikes definitely have a great future in urban environments. The Californian motorcycle manufacturer CSC has also recognized this. With the new CSC City Slicker, smart pocket bike design has been paired with a purely electric drive.
Up to 100 km range
CSC does not build itself, but has it manufactured by the Chinese two-wheel giant Zongshen. They also helped develop the City Slicker after CSC’s preliminary work.
From a purely visual point of view, the CSC City Slicker is very close to the Honda MSX 125 (in the USA: Honda Grom). There are hardly any differences in the dimensions either. The CSC is 1.80 meters long and has a wheelbase of 1.25 meters. The City Slicker is very compact, but with a net weight of just 98 kilograms, the payload should be 150 kilograms.
The unspecified electric motor integrated in the swing arm accelerates the CSC to a maximum of 75 km / h via belt drive on the rear wheel. However, the City Slicker reaches its maximum range of around 100 kilometers with one battery charge at an average speed of almost 30 km / h. The charging time for the lithium-ion battery at a standard household socket is specified as 6 to 8 hours.
Price from around 1,700 euros
All control elements are the same as those of normal motorcycles, but there are no clutches or gears. A turn of the throttle is enough and it goes ahead. There are two disc brakes for deceleration. A reverse option for parking is also on board. The digital cockpit bundles all information on driving values, range and battery charge status. The 12-inch wheels are in an upside-down fork at the front and a swing arm with a central spring strut at the rear.
The CSC City Slicker is available in the color combinations blue-white and red-white at prices starting at 1.995 dollars (around 1,700 euros). Reservations can now be made with a $ 500 deposit. The first City Slickers will be delivered from September – but initially only in the USA.
