ENERGICA EGO: Electric fire chair: This bike is ultra-eat
-
Site author Marcus Efler
An electric motorcycle? Why not – even Harley-Davidson builds one! That’s not half as hot as the "Energic Eco". Marcus Effler has dared the hell ride on the 100 kilowatt oven, which costs as much as a middle-class cart.
Who or what is there? A whistling and hissing like the Hover Board of Marty McFly on the way "Back to the Future". And what then bends around the corner is actually a reality of a vision: a sports motorcycle with electric drive. Not the first of its kind, but the fastest and strongest: in less than three seconds accelerate 136 hp the "ENERGICA EGO" from zero to tempo 100, it reaches a tip pace of 240 km / h. Values that actually only reach potent four-cylinder.
Sport Yes, Futurism No
The Italian company CRP, otherwise employed with 3D formal printing for Formula 1 and NASA, the e-bike has reconstructed from the ground up – and still waiver to give him a futuristic styling. "The ego turns to motorcyclists who like sporty machines," explains CRP-boss Livia Cevolini, "but the something special."

And especially this machine is undoubtedly. This is clear to the first sitting sample: no clutch lever on the left handlebar half, no gear lever on the footrest. And no noise after printing on the starter key. The ability to rotate the electric motor in the opposite direction and ran backwards the 260 kilo part backwards. This can save lives with slightly sloping parking books.
This electric car can drive backwards 305 km / h
161 "Concept One": This electric car can drive backward 305 km / h
Where are all the kilos?
The proud weight (258 kg) seems to disappear when one has come to momentum in a slightly decided seating position. The ego is certainly not the eighth wonderful in terms of agility, but a big part of the weight is sitting where it is best attributed: as a battery pack as low as possible. So the e-bike swings funny through long curves and accelerates from them so vehemently out how to know it from lush motorized machines.
150 kilometers range promises the manufacturer in gentle ride, 100 in fast – that is the one that is appropriate to this eco-racer. The test drive showed that these paper values arrive in reality. Thus, the ECO is the daily motorcycle commuting in the office, and Sunday morning tour crispie. There are also gasoline bikes, which also call after 150 kilometers after the petroleum. Of course, there is the same problem as with pure electric cars: you have to control a compatible fast load station – or schedule a four-hour pause.
Electric pipes
On the sound, the other typical E-characteristic, must of course get used to bikers who change from Harley-Twin. But it works – after all, the V2-Bollern is only learned as "motorcycle typical". In case of motorcycles, the electric pipes could not apply much faster than typical than cars: in this often used for short-range luxury product, the disadvantages of a stromer for customers are easier to accept.
Whether this also applies to the biggest disadvantage? It already drives EGO in similar price regions like a full-fledcular battery car. For 30.000 Euro including taxes you also get the top models of cult stamps such as Harley and Ducati. CRP pages an annual sales of about 1000 units when the Energica EGO and its even more expensive, limited sister EGO45 from the next year at the three dealers in Germany. So exclusive, after all, is not ducati.
