There is no lack of performance? Michael Geiger thought, and with great attention to detail he also transformed the chassis of the touring ZX-12R into a real sports burner

You will be speechless when this green-black monster converts its full potential into propulsion shortly before the next braking point in the upper speed range. Merciless acceleration that takes more than a few laps to get used to. Even on a circuit like Hockenheim, which for savvy testers hardly holds any secrets after many thousand laps, no braking point seems to be in its proper place. And the home stretch has always been so short?
From the racetrack to the street is the motto of the small company Geiger Sport. Michael Geiger, himself a successful racing driver, had the idea of bringing his last year’s racing bike from the Open Xtreme class onto the market in an approved street version. The ZX-12 engine, which is almost standard equipment, only contains high-quality accessories that have already proven themselves in tough racing conditions. At the rear there is a Wilbers shock absorber with separate high and low-speed damping, and at the front a series fork that has also been redesigned by Wilbers and has a sporty, taut tuning. Footrest system with reversed shifting scheme, deeply angled handlebar stubs, brakes and light forged wheels from PVM and, last but not least, the impeccably processed carbon fiber add-on parts convey real racetrack flair.
And the best part is: the SP 12 works. With her XXX kilograms, of course, not a lightweight, but she can still be hunted surprisingly quickly around the narrow course in Hockenheim. For this purpose, Geiger offers the SuperCorsa rubbers from Pirelli, a non-approved, but extremely grippy sole. In civil life, the SP 12 stands on Bridgestone BT 010/011.
The same applies to the mounted exhaust system. The racing tube is intended exclusively for sports use. A quiet ABE system is currently in preparation. It remains to be hoped that this system will also find such a suitable engine tuning as is the case with the racing pot. Almost without annoying jerks, the gas can be applied in the apex of the curve in order to then fully open the tap slowly and finely as the slope decreases.
On the brakes, the SP 12 is quite stable and good-natured. The high weight of the machine and the noticeable tilt when turning do not have a positive effect on precise handling, but with a little getting used to and emphasis, the Kawasaki can be kept on an astonishingly tight line.
PThere are hardly any limits to the fun when traveling. If a few hundred are enough for the neatly milled footrest system or various carbon fiber parts such as fenders and frame guards, the PVM wheels with 4850 and strut and fork conversion cost around 2000 marks. A precise list of all prices and further information about the Geiger-SP 12 can be found on the Internet at www.SP12.com.
