Six-cylinder is celebrated appropriately

The new Horex should appear much more dynamic and masculine. If you are already installing an extraordinary six-cylinder engine, then you should celebrate it appropriately. In accordance with this requirement, Jerschke is now having a small development and design team rework the design of the machine. Thicker exhaust manifolds and a much more dynamic silencer system are a first step in the right direction. Because seldom has an exhaust system been so unrepresentative as on the previous VR6. A pleasant side effect of the new system: a fuller performance development. In addition, they want to save a lot of weight in Landsberg am Lech, where Horex now has its new domicile, and thus gain driving dynamics.

Since the engine, frame and tank are to be adopted largely unchanged, the seat, lighting system, fenders and other attachments are made easier. After all, the parent company 3C-Carbon should have plenty of expertise in lightweight construction. In keeping with the current zeitgeist, the new Horex will appear very reduced in the rear area. Small taillights and a two-part seat without fenders make the machine end much slimmer than the somewhat chubby first version did. At the same time, the visual focus is shifted more towards the front of the engine. As an additional gag, the Horex developers have come up with the removable rear seat half. This makes the new VR6 look really beefy.

The old version looks comparatively rugged today, the exhaust system has never been nice.

In terms of price, the Horex will certainly continue to move in the high-end range, probably even beyond the 25,000 euros that a VR6 Classic previously cost. But there should also be a realistic equivalent. Karsten Jerschke is certainly aware of his responsibility here. The Horex brand would not be able to cope with another failure. But Jerschke is not an adventurer who just buys a motorcycle brand. He’s been in business too long for that. The new Horex will then be presented to the world at the EICMA trade fair in Milan in November.
