Honda Crosser 2006
Second voice
R.It should be calmer on the cross courses, at least a little. The limit values in sports were from 98 to
96 dB lowered. All new 2006 models therefore come with quieter silencers as standard.
Honda has come up with something very special for the small four-stroke engine, the CRF 250 R: a factory machine with a cure was launched in Japan in the summer-
zen double silencers, this solution is now going into series production. It should bring better sound absorption without a negative impact on the performance characteristics. Honda also proclaims that the two shock absorbers together are only a little heavier than a single one
and can be positioned closer to the center of gravity so that they can reach the hand-
even have a positive influence on it. Keyword: mass concentration.
Apart from that, there are minor modifications so that the Unicam motor, which was previously not exactly known as a high-flyer, can fully play along with the music in the future. This includes a higher piston with more compression, a modified camshaft, a new exhaust port in the cylinder head and a Keihin FCR carburetor with full
40 millimeter passage.

Lierop, the journalists were able to get a first impression of the new models. Even if the deep sand provides information about the performance of the rider rather than the motorcycle, it quickly becomes clear that the 250 is noticeably better than its predecessor. In the upper area, the engine does not close as early and offers a wider torque plateau. Whether it is enough against the competition, which was also strengthened in 2006, can only be seen in a direct comparison. Otherwise, the familiar, Honda-typical feeling sets in immediately: Everything fits right away. The Showa spring elements respond cleanly and do not break through in the extended washboard waves.
The CRF 450 R, up to now the measure of all things in its class, will stay with it for the time being
individual ?? something quieter? Silencer and goes into the new model year with small maintenance measures. Compared to the by no means weak-chested 2005 models, it seems a bit stronger, especially in the lower area. The question is who needs the extra power. But as-
as long as the power comes so controllably, it doesn’t do any harm. gt
