Retro single with Dominator engine

The French motorcycle manufacturer Mash is advancing into a new displacement class with the Dirt Track 650. The single was presented in a retro look with a Honda engine at the Paris Motor Show.

So far it was limited M.ash from France on single-cylinder models with 50, 125 and a maximum of 400 cm³ displacement. At the Paris Motor Show, the French have now unveiled the Mash Dirt Track 650, which advances into completely new dimensions.

40 hp with Euro4

This is made possible by the air-cooled single-cylinder engine adapted from the Honda Dominator. Mash has trimmed it to the Euro4 emissions standard with a Delphi injection system and a large oil cooler. The power is specified with 40 hp at 6,000 tours, the maximum torque with 46 Nm at 4,500 rpm. The single is started with an electric starter, and gear changes are made with a six-speed gearbox. The exhaust gases flow into a megaphone muffler on the right.

At first glance, the new Mash Dirt Track 650 with its tubular steel frame layout resembles the good old Yamaha SR 500. The tracker look is provided by coarse tires on wire spoke rims, 120 / 80-18 at the front and 130 / at the rear. 80-18. The front wheel is guided by a size 41 upside-down fork, the rear steel box swing arm is supported in the classic way by stereo struts with a reservoir.

The lamp mask turns on the number plate and takes on a small round headlight. The teardrop-shaped 12-liter tank with exposed fuel cap is followed by a short bench seat with a hump and rear light in the cafe racer style. The license plate sits on a fixed arm. Only a short fender towers over the front wheel. The Mash Dirt Track 650 is guided with a wide tubular handlebar. The braking power is provided by a 320 disc with four-piston calipers on the front wheel, and a 240 disc at the rear. ABS is of course on board.

Price under 6,000 euros

The Mash Dirt Track 650 has a length of 2,080 mm, a width of 890 mm and a height of 1,180 mm. The seat height is specified as 783 mm, the curb weight with 163 kg. The Mash Dirt Track 650 is scheduled to go on sale in Germany in April 2019. The price should be just under 6,000 euros.
