Yamaha XJR 1300 as a base

Many motorcyclists associate the name Egli with the ultimate dream motorcycle from their youth. 25 years after the last model, the Swiss motorcycle manufacturer has now presented a new motorcycle, the Egli “Fritz W.” 1300. It is based on the Yamaha XJR 1300.

Only six copies of the E.gli Fritz W. 1300 were made. So it shouldn’t be easy to get hold of one. The aim of the Swiss motorcycle manufacturer was to design a classic cafe racer with Egli-typical driving characteristics.

The technical data and the appearance of the machine reveal: Mission accomplished. For the engine, the Egli team opted for the air-cooled four-cylinder engine from the Yamaha XJR 1300. We think it’s a good choice!

Driving report in MOTORRAD 10/2017

Compared to the original, the Egli team was able to reduce the weight of the motorcycle by 36 kilograms. When fully fueled, the Egli Fritz W. 1300 only weighs 208 kilograms. The price for this special motorcycle: 51,000 Swiss francs, which is currently around 47,600 euros.
