If that knew the Hells Angels: Pope Francis has auctioned fire chair – for nearly 250 000 euros. However, the proceeds does not benefit the Vatican.
It took just six minutes until the hammer fell: for whopping 241 500 euros was auctioned at the Auction House of Bonhams now the Harley-Davidson Dyna Super Glide of Pope Francis auction. Harley-Davidson had given the Sacred Father the Fat Motorcycle with his 1585 CCM displacement for the 110-year corporate anniversary (by Harley-Davidson, not the church). Whether the Pope is also cruised by the Vatican, is not known – Franziskus rides rather bike or can be carried out in an old Renault R4 because he can not give up thick company cars.
The soup kitchen is pleased
On the tank cap of the Harley is Francis’ Signature (Francesco), a certificate of authenticity of Harley-Davidson is. However, the proceeds of the auction will not benefit the Vatican, but a homeless hostel and a soup kitchen in Rome. The contract received a telephone bidder – nothing is known about his identity. After all, the new owner can look forward to the blessing of the Pope.
