Presentation of the Triumph Scrambler 1200 (2019)
With 90 HP also fit for the terrain
With the Street Scrambler, Triumph already had a scrambler in its range. This is now followed by the Triumph Scrambler 1200 XC for 13,550 euros and the Scrambler 1200 XE for 14,550 euros.
B.For a long time now, the British have turned to scrambler fans exclusively with the Street Scrambler. It relies on the well-known twin with 899 cm³ and brings 55 hp to the start. But customers have always longed for a little more displacement and performance. These wishes were heard.

Triumph Scrambler 1200 with 90 HP
Triumph Scrambler 1200 XC and XE rely on a liquid-cooled 1,200 cm³ twin with 90 hp and 110 Nm torque, an elaborately designed off-road chassis and a timelessly stylish scrambler look, which has been further developed for this model. The maximum power of the two-cylinder should be at 7,400 tours, the maximum torque is from 3,940 rpm. It is shifted by a six-speed gearbox. A raised double-pipe exhaust system made of stainless steel provides the right sound.
The chassis is based on a 21-inch front wheel that is guided by a fully adjustable Showa upside-down fork. Fully adjustable Ohlins dampers with expansion tanks are mounted on the rear swing arm made of aluminum. The spoked wheels with laterally guided spokes of the Scrambler 1200 are designed for use with tubeless tires of sizes 90 / 90-21 and 150/70 R17. Stop-Power is provided by a 320 double disc system with radially attached Brembo M50 double piston calipers on the front wheel. A 255 disc with double-piston floating caliper is used at the rear.
Differences between XE and XC
triumph
The Triumph Scrambler 1200 XC is more street-oriented.
The Triumph Scrambler 1200 XE offers longer suspension travel on both wheels than the Scrambler 1200 XC, apart from the slightly different design. Here there are 250 against 200 mm of suspension travel. The fork of the XE is also two mm thicker than that of the XC at 47 mm. In addition, the XE has a longer rear swing arm (XE 579 mm / XC 547 mm) and the additional driving mode "Off-Road Pro" and a switchable cornering ABS (XC: switchable ABS). Other XE extras include a brake lever with adjustable transmission, quick adjustment on the brake pedal, heated grips and hand guards with aluminum protective bars, a silver handlebar and a gold-colored fork.
In terms of dry weight, the two differ by 2 kg, with the Triumph Scrambler 1200 XC just ahead of the pack with 205 kg. The XE also surpasses the XC in terms of seat height with 870 to 840 mm. The handlebar width is also slightly larger at 905 mm (XC: 840 mm)
Wide range of customization
When it comes to design, the new Scrambler models naturally have a scrambler look. These include a newly shaped 16-liter tank with an aluminum flap tank lid and stainless steel tank strap, a classically shaped bench seat as well as mudguards and start number plates made of brushed aluminum.
In addition, Triumph has more than 80 add-on parts available with which the Scrambler models can be further customized. The off-road accessories include a high front fender, engine protection bars made of stainless steel and a headlight grille. Upgrades in terms of style and practical value would be, for example, the Bluetooth module, Arrow silencers, a set to relocate the indicators, a handlebar brace or the start number plate. Packing bags or a tank bag in a used look or a roll bag with a capacity of 30 liters are available as accessories for longer trips and everyday use.
In addition, Triumph has put together two inspiration kits. With the Escape Kit, the Triumph Scrambler 1200 becomes an adventure tourer, with the Extreme Kit it becomes a slimmed-down off-roader.
Standard equipment and prices
The standard equipment of the Scrambler models already includes a TFT display in the cockpit, six different driving modes, five-stage traction control, ABS, LED lighting, illuminated handlebar switches, cruise control, keyless driving authorization system, USB charging socket and a control system for GoPro cameras. Optionally, the scrambler can also be networked via Bluetooth.
Both new Triumph Scrambler 1200s come on the market in two exclusive bi-color color schemes: The XC version in Jet Black / Matt Black and Khaki Green / Brooklands Green and the XE version in the combinations Fusion White / Brooklands Green and Cobalt Blue / Jet black. The maintenance intervals are 16,000 km and the consumption is 4.9 liters.
Prices: The Triumph Scrambler 1200 XC costs 13,550 euros, the Triumph Scrambler 1200 XE is 14,550 euros
