The sometimes somewhat clumsy Tiger has been prescribed a clear slimming diet. That makes them fit against Africa Twin and Multistrada.

And in this form it can also go on the hunt for the place cow, the GS.

Brembo brakes and possibly new ZF or Sachs suspension elements will bring the Tiger up to the state of the art.

Completely new development
MOTORRAD drove the latest version of the Triumph Tiger 1200 in front of the lens. The Erlkonig caught indicates a completely newly developed large enduro.
D.he British motorcycle manufacturer Triumph seems to be making a new attempt against the BMW GS with a new edition of its large enduro. The new Triumph Tiger, the prototype of which was caught in driving tests in southern climes, clearly shows that the British have once again taken a lot of money into their hands and completely renewed their travel enduro flagship.
New three-cylinder
The engine remains a three-cylinder, but looks a bit more compact than its predecessor and, like the small engines, will probably have a special crankshaft offset for more character. One can only speculate about the displacement, but the cylinder bank looks more sporty and leaning forward. Possibly the engine should also cause a sensation in the Speed Triple, which is to be expected soon, but with chain drive. The new Tiger has everything between 1,100 and 1,300 cm³, so the usual output in this segment of 135 to 150 hp would not be a problem.
Two-arm swing arm with torque compensation
The rear-wheel drive is completely redesigned. The rear wheel is now guided by a two-arm swing arm, the rear axle drive is supported to compensate for the torque of the drive. The construction with torque support on both sides is reminiscent of the Kawasaki GTR 1400, the Greens called the system Tetralever. The tiger will grant it a neutral and appealing hindquarters.

The tires, which are now mounted on spoked wheels with externally hinged nipples, look remarkably narrow. The front wheel also appears to be a 21-inch model. Like the unscrewable rear frame, the enduro’s off-road suitability should be increased. An area where the old tiger was weak. The large, tight-fitting aluminum pan under the engine also underlines the off-road claim. They actually mean rockfall protection seriously.
Electronic chassis and new design
The machine, which is sprung strongly at the front and the rear end, reveals that the Triumph test pilot braked hard into the corner, but had a lot of suspension travel. A strikingly large expansion tank for the rear suspension strut suggests an electronic chassis. Brembo brakes and possibly new ZF or Sachs spring elements will bring the Tiger up to the state of the art, a lot of electronics will make the travel enduro safe and adaptable for different purposes.
