This vertical twin, designed in collaboration with Bombardier-Rotax, is manufactured in the Austrian Rotax plant. The latter also manufactures Aprilia twins. We can therefore expect excellent performance from this 798 cm3 cubing berlinguot; without unwanted effects and vibrations because for mass balancing, the parallel twin uses a unique system in the production of motorcycles: an additional balancing rod compensates for the first and second order inertia forces and filters any unwanted vibration. The combustion chambers are directly inspired by those of the new K (1200 S and R) engine. Equipped with 4 valves per cylinder and a compression ratio of 12: 1, the mill is advertised for a power of 85 hp.
85 hp and just a little over 180 kg, this is the sport BM version – more in the spirit of the R 1100 S than a hypersport. With the F 800 S, we will drive a sporty gentleman style. The machine is fitted with rims with a design similar to that of the K 1200, a single-sided arm and a final transmission by toothed belt as on the F 650 CS Scarver, an ABS on request, and is also available in a version. 34 hp.
