The NineT is undoubtedly the greatest current success of the neo-retro wave. BMW has hit the nail on the head with this vintage-style roadster. Trendy and tempting, this bike was immediately successful and then gave life to a whole family. Scrambler, Urban G / S, Racer … And while it is getting up to date, the NineT is also available in a more affordable version, the Pure. History to offer the taste for a less beefy price. Just for that ? No, to give more freedom to creative minds. But why ? How? ‘Or’ What ? With what ?
La Pure does not bear its name by chance. It aims to be refined, essential, authentic, returning to the basics of the classic roadster. Indeed, it appears to be; and comparing it to the more premium NineT, you can feel the difference. Not necessarily in a good way. Ciao the inverted fork stitched to the S 1000 RR, the radial calipers, the aluminum tank, the double exhaust and the spoked rims. We have just quoted the main part of what differentiates a NineT from the Pure, and the latter thus seems to descend from the high-end market. But if it is the spirit of this BM that interests you, you will ignore these differences, just as you will pay little attention to the non-LED indicators, the single speedometer, the handlebar ends without aluminum weights … The design always has something to satisfy enthusiasts, and the Pure has kept singular parts, such as the air intake covered with an anodized aluminum cover, the stylized plates under the saddle, or the small BMW logo in the middle. from the lighthouse. And the Pure likes black, to the point of benefiting its frame, its single-sided, its fork sleeves and its engine. Only the cylinder head covers escape with a layer of granite gray.
On the other hand, no difference for the heart of the machine. Like all the motorcycles of this vintage family, the engine is entrusted to the old generation of Boxer 1200. Few hoses, no fleet, it is better to preserve the retro aspect. And this allows this flat to continue its career, only in the Heritage range. It does not demerit and preserves beautiful remains. Braking offers the standard services of Behème at this level of the range, counting at the end of its braided hoses 3 brake calipers and as many discs. The front is made up of two 320 mm wafers bitten by axial calipers with 4 pistons; the rear trusts a 265mm disc and a 2-piston caliper. The ABS as standard secures everything. This is also the only assistance on board. An active safety notch can be added by going through the option box and by adding ASC traction control.

A model of BMW’s Heritage clan, the R NineT Pure makes a point of being a simple roadster, stripped down, using the simple to let the creativity of others invade it.
