Simple, straightforward and honest
125ccs are booming, thanks to Andreas Scheuer and the B196 regulation, not only in the school yard. With the Cromwell 125, we grabbed a Brixton for a small price and tested it.

You can’t criticize an apple for not being a pear. If so, it is for rotting. Almost a philosophical approach, but you will guess where it comes from. If not: the Brixton is the apple. The comparison to the almost twice as expensive mini MTs or dukes in this world not only lags, it just doesn’t work. Hence the attempt here to evaluate the Cromwell 125 according to what it can do, not according to what it cannot do.
the price is hot
Air-cooled single-cylinder, 11.3 HP and 9.5 Newton meters cost 2,899 euros in the ABS version (without ABS it is 200 euros less). Something is missing here, one might think, and there is actually something missing from the maximum of the A1 class. But who misses the four horsepower? The 16-year-old on the way to a holiday job, the freshly switched commuter or maybe just our data table? Most of the purchasing decisions are more difficult due to the lack of banknotes and the bare retro style, which, in addition to Brixton, is only served by Mash or SWM as eighth of a liter. Both influenced at least Chinese, to have mentioned this.

Cutbacks, yes, but easy to drive
It can be seen, albeit best from a little further away. A little bit of tolerance here, a little bit of love there results in a very rough driving experience: As the speed increases, audible little things vibrate, the throttle stays empty for a long time, the ABS regulates late and roughly. A lot of play in the drive train, and the associated rather stubborn load changes also pay off “raw”. While this is halfway under control, riders enjoy the advantages of a light motorcycle in the literal sense of the word, as well as an active seating position with a beginner-friendly seat height (770 mm) and comfortable upholstery as well as enough space for passengers.
Handy and agile, albeit with small losses, the small Cromwell meets curvy realms: The rear is somewhat unstable due to the lack of rigidity in the swing arm and soft, rubbery shock absorbers, at the front it is rather tight and direct in comparison.
opinion poll
Do you know someone who, thanks to the new driving license regulation, has got a 125cc??
Voted 5750 times
Yes, of course, myself!
Yes, I know someone who took advantage of this opportunity.
No, I don’t know anyone.
Conclusion
The Brixton is cheap, yes, sometimes cheap, but at the same time an uncomplicated everyday vehicle with an honest character and a casual look. So if you prefer juicy pears instead of crunchy apples, you will have to look for them on the second-hand market.
