Royal Enfield "frames" its development thanks to Harris
Appreciated for the quality and seriousness of his achievements, Harris has worked with Yamaha and Suzuki racing departments to develop their Grand Prix and World Superbike motorcycles. In addition to this flattering business card, the English brand is also at the origin of the tubular frame of the last Royal Enfield: the relatively "modern" .
Presumably satisfied with this collaboration, the Indian manufacturer buys Harris to strengthen its Research and Development department based in Great Britain.
This takeover should therefore not lead to any restructuring or redundancy plan. On the contrary, Royal Enfield intends to take advantage of this investment to advance its future range more quickly, thanks to the know-how of its new acquisition..
"All current Harris Performance employees will become Royal Enfield employees and take part in the development of our new range of motorcycles," confirms Siddharta Lal. "They will work in the new Royal Enfiel technical center which will soon open in Great Britain", details the CEO of Royal Enfield.
According to information revealed by our Indian colleagues from, this new range could be articulated around a new single cylinder of approximately 400 cc (the characteristic engine of Enfield) and a new twin cylinder of 750 cc cooled by air and oil. Enough to achieve Siddharta Lal’s ambitious objective: "to become the future leading brand in the medium-displacement segment from 350 to 750 cc".
