It’s official: DIP Importation has just been appointed the new exclusive distributor in France of Royal Enfield motorcycles, their spare parts and accessories. Excellent news for the French importer since the brand of British origin – but Indian since 1949 – is experiencing a remarkable resurgence of interest among bikers around the world !
"We are pleased to welcome the DIP Company as an official partner", rejoices the head of Europe and the Americas of Royal Enfield, Andrew Ananthara, "DIP Importation has a rich experience of more than 40 years in the field of two – motorized wheels. We are convinced that together, we will have the necessary means to promote and develop the Royal Enfield brand in France ".
"For us", declares Stephane Hruszowski, president of DIP Importation, "to be responsible for the oldest motorcycle brand in the world, enjoying a prestigious reputation and a unique capital of sympathy is a great pride".
Great responsibility and pride for the DIP
"With the Eicher group (yes, like tractors, the Indian group became the majority shareholder of Enfield India in August 1993, Editor‘s note) we want to lay new commercial bases necessary for the expansion of sales and the arrival of future Royal Enfield on French soil ", continues the French boss.
Through this legendary brand (and in addition to other equally cute models like the CPI Astor for example, read), the DIP intends to "re-humanize the motorcycle, give back to this means of locomotion its passionate values, its very essence of motorcycle".
"We want young bikers to discover the pleasure of riding on two wheels on the handlebars of a legendary, controllable and manageable motorcycle, and to continue to offer all riders unique motorcycles, designed and assembled by hand. ‘Royal Enfield spirit … that will be our marketing strategy for the years to come ".
As a reminder, the 2012 range consists of five models and the DIP warns that it will be completed during the second half of the year with a new model presented at the last Auto Expo in New Delhi (read). Contacted by Site, the sales manager of the DIP told us that it would be the Continental GT…
"Royal Enfield will present this autumn in Cologne the Cafe Racer which will then be marketed in November 2012. The Thunderbird is scheduled for 2013", confirms Marc Caparros, more optimistic than the former distributor: Heritage Import told us a few days ago. that the Continental would not be produced "before 2013 or even 2014" … To be continued on Site therefore !
The page turns for Heritage Import
In the wake of this announcement, the former importer of Royal Enfield in France issued a press release: “We have just learned today that Heritage Import is no longer an importer of the Royal Enfield brand. ‘moment no more information ", regrets Jean Burdet.
The technical manager adds, not without emotion, that "for my part, it was six years of collaboration with dealers, stakeholders, suppliers and customers. Six years have allowed me to exercise my profession with passion".
