Cagiva 125 MITO SP 525 2009

Menus

The Cagiva 125 Mito is certainly one of the most efficient, and the most sulphurous of the small Italian sports cars. Great pilots of today have previously sharpened their weapons on this machine, others bitterly remember the more than random reliability of this very advanced mechanics.. But all have cracked on its old plastic copied on the mythical Ducati 916.

Never retouched in its type 916 design for almost 15 years, the Mito knows for 2008 its biggest evolution since 1994. What we immediately notice is this new face with protruding eyes separated by 2 central gills. forced air intake. This rounder style with the breather muzzle may not remind you of anything … but GP 500 enthusiasts will recognize the facies of the C594 which wore the colors of Cagiva in Grand Prix in the mid-90s, especially in the hands of John Kocinski. The rear part is also revised, more taut, finished with a led light, indicators and a license plate holder ready to be turned in 2 screwdriver strokes (the call of the track).

Euro 3 did not intend to spare the Mito. So this one adapted. Its 2-stroke single-cylinder now complies with anti-pollution standards. To achieve this, its 15 horses are watered by an electronically managed carburetor, then 2 catalysts installed in the exhaust pellet the harmful gases. This is for the road. Because let’s not kid ourselves: the Mito is designed to express itself on the track. Behind its 15 legal donkeys hide 35 to 40 horses, only for competition. It is not for nothing that the Mito retains its perimeter aluminum frame, its large Brembo 320 mm disc pinched by 4 pistons, its inverted 40 mm fork and its steering damper..
Like the Ducatis, the Mito is an authentic, barely civilized sports car for the road. A machine of passion that requires a lot: plan a good budget to acquire it, a sturdy maintenance, and close monitoring of the mechanics.
