Anniversary watch Honda RC 162 Casio Edifice
60 years of the world championship on the wrist

In 1961, Honda became the first Japanese manufacturer to become motorcycle world champion. Edifice and Honda are celebrating the anniversary with a chronograph designed in the style of the legendary RC162.

It was 60 years ago that Honda’s first world championship on two wheels was held, and in 1961 Tom Phillis drove to victory. Everyone thought Maik Hailwood now, right? Also true. Phillis drove 125cc and Mike did “The bike” with the 250cc Honda to the title. Model RC162. 250 cc four-stroke engine that gets 45 horsepower out of a piston and revs at a relaxed 14,000 rpm. Honda and Edifice have now launched an anniversary watch for Mike (R.I.P), the RC162 and the first title.

Chronograph in Honda design

Edifice – part of Casio – offers the EQW-A2000HR model for 599 euros. The dial of the chronograph is designed with elements that are reminiscent of the paneling of the legendary Honda RC 162: The anthracite dial is subtly complemented by bare aluminum with yellow and red surfaces. The EQW is equipped with solar technology, so the battery charges in sunlight. The stainless steel case comes with exchangeable textile straps with a pin buckle and a sewn-on batch with the Honda logo. This is also engraved on the back of the case cover. The radio clock shows the time zone, world time and a second time zone, selectable from 29 locations.

Do you think it is appropriate for manufacturers to offer lifestyle accessories more and more often??

Voted 139 times

It’s ok for me, sometimes there is something cool and then I buy it.

They should rather concentrate on building motorcycles. Everything is just expensive junk anyway..

Definitely! I just want to have everything there is for my brand.

Conclusion

Why not wear the motorcycle on your wrist? The Edifice anniversary watch is intended to commemorate the 1961 World Cup. If the 599 euros for the alarm clock is too much for you: There is a slimmed-down version in a similar design for 299 euros.
