Thunder Roll: F6C

They do exist, these »sit-on-feel-good-bikes«. The badios is not one of them. She doesn’t even want to. Even when standing still, the 315-kilo hum seems to be saying: “Stroll on, wimp. I’m only for real men. ”And indeed: The greedy, open intake funnels (dummy), the massive chrome array, the mighty handlebars and the short six-in-six system, the sawed-off shotguns remember, are formidable.

The same applies to the first seat contact. You float at a height of only 720 millimeters, but the upholstery is hard. And with an effective 360 millimeters too short to transport a passenger. The knees are bent at a 90-degree angle, the feet are supported on chrome-plated pegs with a skull emblem. The handlebar with the aptly named “widebar” also fits in wonderfully with the ensemble, because it forces the arms into this “I-want-to-embrace-the-whole-world” position. In short: The Badios is a radical conversion without any ergonomically noble goals. In this respect, it works perfectly. The initiator of the project is Europe’s largest Gold Wing dealer, Detlef Fuchs from Uslar / Lower Saxony (www.goldwing.de). The team around owner Fuchs invested around 100 working hours in an F6 C Valkyrie (see also the website www.custombikesales.de) and turned the Biederbike into a show jewel.

Colossally functional chunks in a designer dress. The Badios cuts a fine figure on all sides.

The badios show only really begins with the first breath of the 1520 engine, which has been bored out to 1835 cubic meters. Six pistons virtually exhale into freedom, pushing almost two meadows of burnt energy into nothing. The boxer growls when standing. He is furious in the low speed range and thunderstorms above 4500 tours. Not a motorcycle for those who walk quietly.

But the Cobra silencers are only installed for show purposes, “a TÜV-compatible system is included,” says junior boss Tobias Fuchs. Otherwise everything is entered. Kick up the stand, the first falls noisily into its interlocking. Release the clutch and drive the 117 horses out of the paddock. The tuned boxer hangs a bit gruffly on the gas, does not implement commands as smoothly as one is used to from an 1800 Gold Wing, but has almost the same punch. For cruiser standards, there is a lot of progress. From 2000 tours the engine shows bite and literally seduces the pilot to turn the gas tap further and further, to surrender completely to the pressure and sound of the engine. The torque power of the Fuchs conversion is topped in broad tire circles by a Triumph Rocket with its 2.3 liter monster engine.

The fork and shock absorber are more sporty than the standard parts, they convey relatively good feedback and stabilize the load in swiftly driven corners. The rear suspension travel has been reduced to 60 millimeters, and the suspension struts can be adjusted differently using air support. By using a steel braided line, the pressure point of the brake system is better, and the wave-shaped brake discs and pads from Braking also do an excellent job. The self-steering behavior of the wide 240 Metzeler Marathon and the distance from the handlebar end to the front tire quickly dampen the sporting ambitions aroused by power, brakes and chassis. Small people should definitely complete a course for turning: whoever fully turns the handlebars needs the arm span of a giant. That in turn fits the Badios ?? Keyword wimp. Interested parties should have 28,000 euros left. In return, they really get a hearty Big Toy for Bad Boys.
