Driving report: on the knife cutting edge

For the vintage 2009 Yamaha has mixed up the super-sporty Oberliga. The test shows whether the YZF-R1 hit the heart of the knee grinder fraction with the so-called Big-Bang engine.

Compared to the predecessor model, hardly a screw remained unchanged. The focus of the development was the improved dosing of the enormous power of 134 kW / 182 hp, which are at 12 500 rpm. The maximum torque of 116 Nm reaches the four-cylinder at 10,000 rpm. So for the 14 895 Euro basic price is well offered.
