Ducati excelled in MotoGP for its first year of participation. And if the Desmocedici comes to sinter at the RCV 211, it is not only to the engineers that we owe it – salute and congratulate the piloting and the successes of Loris Capirossi. Grateful, the Bologna firm dedicates this Monster 620 special series badged Capirex to its pilot. A big 65 adorns the rump of the motorcycle; this is the number used by Loris in the league. It is also found on the nose screen, as well as a white band as on the S4R and a “Capirex” logo on the mini-screen. On this version, the swingarm is made of aluminum and some parts such as the front fender are made of carbon. Beyond these attributes, it benefits from the peculiarities of a Monster 620 S, in particular at the level of the clutch which receives the APTC system (Adler Power Plate Clutch), patented by Ducati. In addition to the advantage of reducing the effort on the lever by 40%, it makes it possible to prevent the rear wheel from locking during strong decelerations. Note in passing that in 10 years of existence, 130,000 Monster were produced.
