Italian athletes at risk of fire
Ducati has to recall the Supersport and Supersport S models because of a possible fire hazard. The tank ventilation hoses have been misplaced.
As the American traffic safety authority NHTSA initially announced, 1,462 vehicles from the construction period 2017 to 2018 are affected in the USA. D.ucati counts 4,992 affected vehicles worldwide, 840 of them in Germany (chassis number range: ZDMVA00AAHB000006 to ZDMVC35AAJB000051).

The fire hazard should be warned with newly laid hoses.
Because the drainage hoses for the tank and airbox were routed so that they open too close to the manifold of the front cylinder, these lines can melt and ignite. Ignition of escaping fuel vapors is also possible. So far, three cases are known in which there was a fire.
Ducati will recall all owners of such models with their motorcycles to the authorized workshops. The two hoses will be re-laid there. Ducati Germany puts the duration of the workshop visit at one hour. The recall campaign starts on July 2nd, 2018.
