Since a young Argentine engineer drew the first sketches of the Monster, 100,000 copies have been produced by Ducati. A real popular success, especially for the 600. On the road if the handling of the new 620 ie is behind compared to the old one, the stability is on the other hand almost without reproach despite the still firm suspensions. Without the unwanted and surprising reactions typical of a short wheelbase, the bike is more accessible and easier to ride, even by the less experienced. The engine, meanwhile, delivers more progressive power and torque is much more available at low and midrange. On this point the Monster 620 ie approaches Japanese standards of softness without losing its soul.

On the other hand, vibrations and noises from the air-cooled mechanics are still present and the driving position still “resting on the handles”. The note remains salty, especially against a cheaper and more efficient 650 SV, but the charm of the desmo is inimitable. The new Monster 620 ie brings a real plus in terms of amenities. More stable, smoother and with good braking, it will be suitable in particular for those looking for a motorcycle with character for daily use or short weekend trips..

The little Monster goes to the upper class since the start of the 2004 school year. In its binder, a new 6-speed gearbox, a clutch revised for smoothness, and new mirrors.
