The history of the Monster is closely linked to the evolution of Ducati sports cars. Because it is none other than the distillers of the latter which animate the Italian roadsters. The SS thus offered their twins to the Naked sisters from the start. And then, from the original 900 desmo, we switched to the desmoquattro of the 916 for the S4 and we started to ask ourselves questions.. Afterwards, it is the 996 cm3 which is embedded in the S4 R and there, we saw big watts tumbling down. Today, it is getting frankly furious because the last Monster, the 2006 evolution, simply offers itself the 998 cm3 Testastretta of the 999. It is no longer watts but a very large chest that we will have to control at the gas handle.
Testastretta is the name of the last generation cylinder head of the Bologna Superbike twin. A mechanism that spits 130 hp in its configuration intended for the S4Rs. Around the tubular trellis frame painted in bright red (in all colors except the black version), it is Byzantium. 43mm Ohlins inverted fork – with TiN tube treatment – adjustable from anywhere, same-quality rear shock, fully radial Brembo braking system, aluminum single-sided, various carbon parts, superb rims type 999, 177 kg to dry and Pilot Power on the shoes. Start saving and crying on this SBK soul roadster. The heyday of the Monster has become the torment of Tantalus.
