The Ducati Safety Pack of the Hypermotard SP is recalibrated, with the addition of Race, Sport, and Wet driving modes.
Race: 110 horses with a “High” RbW, a DTC which intervenes at the minimum and an ABS at level 1, programmed for the front only which does not prevent the lifting of the rear wheel.
Sport: 110 hp, with a “Medium” RbW, a DTC which intervenes conventionally and an ABS at level 2 for efficient braking and reduced intervention on the lifting of the rear wheel.
Wet: 75 hp, with a “Low” RbW, a DTC which intervenes to the maximum and an ABS at level 3 for a braking as stable as possible and which prevents the lifting of the rear wheel.
The suspensions raise their level of efficiency a notch. The Kayaba 43mm fork with no adjustments gives way to a fully adjustable 50mm Marzocchi with 15mm of additional travel. We also transfer the Sachs shock in favor of an Ohlins element, with more settings and 25 mm more stroke..
Efficiency! This supermot thinks about it all the time. There are improved elements everywhere to honor this leitmotif. The pilot is thus entitled to a variable section aluminum handlebars, a saddle offering more grip, a better radial brake master cylinder with 5 adjustment positions (4 on the standard HM) and more ground clearance ( 210 mm). And how about more liveliness when changing angles? The SP has you covered with Marchesini forged aluminum rims; weight gain: 2 kilos. Of course, the pneumatic assembly is intended to be in tune with the claims of this motorcycle. A good pair of Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa SP in 120/70 at the front and 180/55 at the rear.
With its raised suspensions, the saddle of the 821 Hypermotard SP is logically higher. 890 mm, it’s starting to peak. Don’t panic, a saddle 20 mm lower is available as an accessory.
Balance of materials. Steel, aluminum … and carbon too. It is used for the front fender and timing belt covers. A little magnesium too? Yes, for the cylinder head covers.
More expensive, more sporty, the SP is also 4 kilos lighter than the Hypermotard. The scale returns 171 kilos to him dry. Very distinctive, this SP version is aimed above all at experienced bikers.
