Returning to a genre abandoned, dying, and yet very fashionable at the end of the 20th century, the new Ducati SuperSport intends to offer once again the essence of a forgotten philosophy. A sport on the road, comfortable instead of radical, with satisfactory performance and usable. In short, something to laugh about, put gas, with a racy motorcycle, without triggering aches after 100 terminals.
The SuperSport, or 939 SS, returns to the name of the captivating and somewhat demanding 750 and 900 SS (let’s not forget the 350, 400, 600, 620, 800, 1000). Without however fully immersing themselves in the spirit of these generous sportswomen in sensations, and not really versatile. The SS were sporty, the SuperSport will be Sport-GT. And in order to fully show her sense of rigor and efficiency on the road, the lady is here equipped with a set of Ohlins suspensions..
Many Ducatis are doubled with a version with Swedish elements. The SS can be proud of it too. Fans will grasp the full measure and added value of the 48mm inverted titanium nitride fork and fully adjustable monoshock. To complete the endowment, this S also offers a seat cowl and an up & down shifter.
Apart from these elements, the SS 939 S does not differ in engine or frame from the standard version. It is powered by the Hypermotard twin desmo, delivering 113 horsepower and almost 10 mkg. Single-sided, trellis frame (from the 821 Monster), fake Panigale tunes, Brembo braking with M4-32 calipers and 320 mm discs, the bike recovers all the Ducati genes of the different families. Not to mention state-of-the-art electronics with three Riding Modes, traction control, Bosch 9MP ABS, LED lights, USB socket and … adjustable screen as standard and optional heated grips. The accessories catalog or the choice of packs will greatly enhance the SuperSport.
