Gilera Runner FX 125 in the test

In check: Gilera Runner FX 125

One of the best-selling scooters in Germany

The Gilera Runner is not only nimble on the move, but also one of the best-selling scooters in Germany.

A blockbuster was that Gilera since its market launch in autumn 1997. In 1998 it developed into the best-selling motorized two-wheeler in Germany. Visually, the runner is noticeable because of the lack of a roller-type access. This is due to the tubular steel frame, which is significantly stiffer than in comparable models. There is a good-natured character in the unusual exterior. The variator works perfectly. A harmonious performance development paired with sportiness makes the Gilera Runner FX 125 an extremely everyday city vehicle, although it is thirsty in stop-and-go traffic. The large tank with a capacity of 9 liters is enough for an average of around 200 kilometers. Some models have problems with a rusting manifold and the suspension fork loses grease every now and then. The exhaust can be replaced by a stainless steel exhaust. The range of used models on the market is plentiful, although many can only be found in various modifications. Models with drum brakes are less common than those with disc brakes.
