The very traveler and imposing Road King can now count on this Custom version. Lighter style for a machine that would happily cruise on the shores of Malibu beaches. Feet in front and arms spread by the wide handlebars, we stroll with our hair in the wind, rocked by the “good vibrations” and protected as closely as possible by the small chrome windshield. Mounted on silent-blocks, the twin cam 88 offers the ideal set of trepidations without transforming the motorcycle into a vibrator. The rest of the ride is absorbed by the comfort provided by a good saddle and suspensions of the same ilk. By losing its large windshield, the King reduces its long-term ambitions. We will console ourselves by caressing the magnificent leather-covered saddlebags. The ultra-low saddle (690 mm) accommodates his cruiser who will have taken care to invest in a good pair of sunglasses – the chrome shines to cut the retina..
The machine is not a model of slenderness but is surprisingly manoeuvrable. Caution remains during maneuvers. The 350 kgs weigh the weight of a dead donkey.
