The dominant bumper V2 looks unchanged. Logically, you don’t see more stroke (space) in it. Just as little six-speed gearbox, narrower toothed belts, lambda sensors in the manifolds and an “active intake-exhaust system”. That means a trick for better sound. The on-board computer activates a flap each in the airbox and in the exhaust using servomotors: the upper silencer has a larger passage and is less damp. A flap limits the gas flow to this “bad boy”. Thus, the system keeps intake and exhaust noise low in city traffic and thus in the measurement-relevant area. Nevertheless, the V2 thumps much more dull and robust even when idling. The 1.6 liter engine stomps great. Good vibrations.
The massive mudguards that rightly bear their name make a difference. In the 2007 model, the front tire grew to a stately 140-inch format with an unusual 75-inch cross-section. Suitable for films: the 200 mm rear roller on the six-inch rim. A 17-inch aluminum disc wheel carved from the solid, just like in the front.
It is amazing how easily the 330 kilograms of Milwaukee metal can be tilted. It’s quick in curves the running boards on the collar. Nevertheless, like Arnie, you move on undeterred. You sit casually in the plump, newly quilted saddle only 64.5 centimeters high, grab the thick buffalo horn handlebars (now 1.25 inches in diameter) and enjoy how the entire environment is reflected in the curved chrome circle of the lamp. It can stay that way. You are the boss. Or the US bike, which costs a good 20,000 euros?
120 Newton meters of torque, any questions? That is almost 20 percent power plus. 73 hp means riding nine horses more than before. Everything is very smooth, because the speed in the longer sixth now slides even deeper into the cellar. A slim 41 mm fork tinkers behind massive panels, and two spring struts at the rear despite the rigid frame look. It’s already full, the load, not too soft, not hard, neither underdamped nor tight.
Only jump insoles should be left out. Instead, brake in good time: The identical disc brakes at the front and rear require a firm pull and courageous kicks.
