The super fun device

EICMA 2019

The Italian design studio from Honda has turned the four-cylinder CB 650 into a fun motorcycle par excellence. The Honda CB4X was presented at the EICMA in Milan.

HIn addition to the new Fireblade, onda is also offering extremely tasty two-wheeled food at its stand at EICMA. This is presented in the form of the Honda CB4X Concept study – a design that was created in the Italian brand design studio in Rome with the stipulation “fun bike for seven days a week”.

Even if you can hardly believe it, the Honda CB4X is based on the current CB 650 R. The CB4X mixes Supermoto elements with sports, touring and crossover elements. In front of the driver, a high, frame-fixed fairing is built that seamlessly integrates the tank flanks passes. A high pane provides wind and weather protection. There are also hand protectors on the cranked tubular handlebar. There are extremely slim LED light strips in the front.

Single-sided swing arm and stub exhaust

The slim, stepped bench combination sits on a screwed-on aluminum subframe. A vast nothing spreads beneath it. The four manifolds, which run close to one another, meet under the engine in a collector, from which the two stubby tailpipes from SC Project grow. The tank builds up and protrudes in a kind of hood towards the cockpit.

The 17-inch rear wheel is guided on a single-sided swing arm, and the designers installed an Ohlins USD fork at the front. The fully adjustable shock absorber also comes from the Swedes. Brake components were used on the Brembo shelf.

It is not known whether the fun device will eventually become a series model, or whether it will just remain an eye-catcher.
