Honda VFR 750 RC36 conversion by Rebikeling
Upcycling, recycling, re-belling
The boys of the "Rebikeling motorcycle recycling in Switzerland" breathe new life into a VFR 750, which is no longer so popular, with various renovations.
"We want to keep as many old Japanese motorcycles as possible on the road. It is also very important to us to protect and maintain motorized cultural assets as investments.", so the concern of the rebeling team. And how did you come up with this conversion of all things? According to Hansruedi Zihlmann, one of the two heads of Rebikeling GmbH, the VFR 750 F, type RC36 I, was actually not for sale because it did not correspond to the current motorcycle trend. And because he thought that was a shame, he took the 1990 Honda model for a renovation project. The result: a streetworthy and approved retro racer that is based on the 1972 Honda Daytona CB 750. It was piloted by Dick Man and Ralph Brians at the time.
Discreet lights, dominant start number
At the beginning the VFR 750 was stripped of all attachments. Then a one-piece full cover made of polyester was installed. The rear will also be reshaped and provided with license plate, small license plate lighting and an integrated reflector. The sign and light combination is provided with a plug so that all in all it can be removed quickly and easily if the VFR is to be used on the racetrack. The mini indicators are barely noticeable when they are not activated and the headlights can only be seen at second glance if they are not activated. The front view is dominated by the generously sized start number 2, which was driven by Dick Man in Daytona (Ralph Brians started with the # 12).
Conversion kit for the inspired
If someone has not already taken the rebel rebuilding under the nail, it is still available for purchase. For those who would like to dare to do such a conversion themselves, a race kit is also available at Rebikeling. This contains all the necessary parts including documents. Since the rebikeling team generally specializes in Japanese classics, anyone who takes care of their Japanese oldies will also find help or spare parts here.
