As the S version was completely overhauled, it made sense for the CBF 600 N to do the same. The only difference between the 2 versions being the fork crown, we therefore find the same engine and chassis modifications. But for the look, it’s kif-kif with the previous generation. Only the aluminum color of the engine, the retro-style exhaust pipes, and the 2008 decorations allow them to be distinguished. The technical sheet is no longer of the same ilk.
The CBF 600 inherits the new injection engine, more compact and lighter, directly derived from that of the 2007 versions of the CBR 600 RR and Hornet. The power is lowered to 78 horses, but more lively horses, better distributed, more available and housed in a less heavy hara. The frame used remains the mono-backbone, revised from start to finish – now it is in gravity-cast aluminum.
Free of its fork crown, the CBF 600 N looks like a plush CB 500 with a larger engine block, equipped with all the specifics and options of the S. Tank larger than a liter, fork with preload adjustment, Anti-theft HISS, exhaust complies with Euro 3 standards, new saddle design (still positionable in 3 heights), longer swingarm, new instrumentation with fuel gauge, central stand easier to fit, and ABS / CBS braking system in option.
