“… Retouching the design, the line of a breast, the curve of a hip …” Like Charles Aznavour, the Japanese engineers had to spend a lot of sleepless nights to retouch the VFR. Preserve its identity while infusing it with a touch of modernism, Strive for the bike to be even better but still a VFR, hello anguish in the Honda design offices.
At first glance, the VFRiste will find the one he loved so much; with a cleverly concealed smile. If the sport-GT has reached maturity, it is with more elegance and a touch of sportiness that emerges on its new packaging. Confident of itself, with more and more important gills (some of which are somewhat reminiscent of those of the NR 750), the bike has, it seems, gained in confidence. Under the dress, mechanical changes are legion. The frame, whose appearance does not differ much from the previous one, is however completely new, lightened by 1.5 kg, stiffened and welcoming the famous V4 further back. This one is only reviewed very little, with different carbs, distribution diagrams and intake. But in use, it’s something other than on paper. You will find out in no time.
Most of the parts of the chassis have been lightened or modified, such as the fork, losing no less than 600 g, the redesigned rims or the single-sided arm that is both beefier, less heavy and noticeably shortened..
New dashboard with printed circuits, 4-in-2-in-1 exhaust, changes both technical and aesthetic, the VFR 94 is still a VFR but deeply overhauled. No less than 1 / 5th of the parts that compose it differ from the old model.

The VFR owes its legend to a skillful combination of talents. Everyone praises its consistency, its versatility, and above all its ease. And in contact with this new generation, there is something to be delighted with. When driving, the machine is still a good companion. Easy, considerate, comfortable, but also lighter to register in the turns. The hunt for weight pays off, and the 7 pounds less favor a livelier front end that has lost none of its precision.
Between the legs, the V4 rumbles quietly. His exhaust is no longer the same but his voice has not changed. The answer to the handle will surprise you with its joviality. Faced with the old one, the engine is much more alert. It responds strongly from 2000 rpm to the first third of the tachometer. There, and it’s almost a shame, the 4-cylinder seems to be catching its breath, making the pilot languish a little until the 6500 rpm zone. Once this speed is exceeded, the mill starts up again. If he has lost the very progressive side of the old VFR, the gain in sensations is real as well as appreciable.
The modifications to the chassis allow the VFR to hum the driving in a more playful tone than before. More pep for an always imperturbable rigor. The old 750 was a little less playful on tight twisty courses. In pure efficiency, the bike is even more impressive, almost reaching the level of pure sports. While the machine is always ready for all types of road, it is also capable of pulling out the hooks on demand. Only the gearbox lacks precision when shifting gears very high in the towers. A flaw that the average user will hardly ever notice. The braking, always entrusted to double piston calipers, evolves by equipping itself with floating discs. The power is always there and the consistency more than adequate.

With this evolution, the 750 VFR has further optimized its road behavior while gaining in engine character. The hollow which handicaps it at mid-range does not really matter in view of the immense qualities of the bike. A very gifted motorcycle that charges dearly for its virtues. At almost 7 bricks, it makes you think seriously. But for this price, you are entitled to a very successful machine, which will comply with all uses.
Elegance, style, character, respectable experience and potential, Miss VFR has become Madame VFR.
