Retro bikes for the Indian market

Husqvarna has presented the two new models Vitpilen 250 and Svartpilen 250. The two retro bikes were created in collaboration with Bajaj and are intended for the Indian market.

M.Assume the engine from the KTM Duke 250, known in India, and the chassis of the 401 Husqvarnas from Europe and you get two new models: Husqvarna Vitpilen 250 and Husqvarna Svartpilen 250. Visually, the two newcomers resemble their big siblings Vitpilen 401 and Svartpilen 401.

Differences in seating position

The two retro bikes are powered by a liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine with 249 cm³, which should produce 31 hp at 9,000 rpm and 24 Nm at 7,250 rpm and which, as already mentioned, is also used in the KTM Duke 250. In addition, KTM and Bajaj have given the two 250cc Husqvarnas an upside-down fork, a 320mm disc brake at the front, an adjustable shock absorber and 17 inch aluminum rims. ABS is also on board. In terms of optics, the Vitpilen 250 and Svartpilen 250, like their sister models, are also rather minimalist. Included are among other things chic round headlights, a simple digital speedometer and the aerodynamic-looking cladding. The manufacturer specifies 835 mm for the seat height. The dry weight should be 153 kilograms. The tank holds 9.5 liters.

Husqvarna

The two 250cc Husqvarna will not make it to Germany.

There are also parallels to the larger Husqvarnas offered in Europe in terms of the respective seating position. On the Vitpilen, pilots sit more towards the front wheel due to the low handlebars. The seating position on the Svartpilen, on the other hand, should be a little more comfortable thanks to the wider handlebars.

Intended for the Asian market only

The two new Husqvarnas will be available in India from February 2020. An export to Europe is currently not planned for the two 250 arrows. Prices have not yet been named.

Conclusion

With the two models Svartpilen 250 and Vitpilen 250, KTM and Bajaj are expanding their model portfolio in India with two chic retro bikes. Although the two new 250 Husqvarna models will almost certainly never make it to Germany, at least the two 401 Husqvarna models are at least visually very similar, but more powerfully motorized.
