Electric motorcycle from Russia

The Russian arms company Kalashnikov has now presented the electric motorcycle SM-1 at a military fair in Moscow. The enduro-style e-bike should also be accessible to civilians.

Equipped with a steel tubular space frame with a screwed-on rear, the Kalashnikov SM-1 has an upside-down fork at the front and a central spring strut with deflection at the hindquarters. The spring travel is 200 mm in both cases. The total length is given as 2.20 meters, the height as 1.30 meters. The wheelbase should be 1.50 meters. The weight ranges from 165 to 245 kilograms – presumably with and without a battery. Covering parts have been reduced to a minimum, as have the lighting. There are massive protective elements for various assemblies everywhere. Disc brakes on both wheels are used to decelerate. The cockpit is based on a digital instrument and a few conventional indicator lights.

Travel enduro with electric drive

In addition to the SM-1, the UM-1 was also presented – the variant for civilian use. The presents itself in the style of a classic mid-range travel enduro and a speed limit increased to 100 km / h.

The flanks are completely covered, in front of the tubular handlebar there is a frame-mounted covering with full-fledged light and a small pane. The front fender moves down directly over the front wheel. Crash bars on the sides and around the headlights secure the technology and two suitcases have been adapted at the rear for luggage. The trade fair appearance of the e-bikes was rounded off with the police version, which was presented completely disguised with a horn, blue light and case system.
